My name is Homer and recently I’ve decided to start a blog to share the experiences that my fiancé and I have hunting. She is a brand new hunter and I’ve had a blast introducing her to hunting and getting her on her first few birds. Along the way I’ve learned a few things and figured I should start a blog sharing the lessons learned so others can get through these things a little faster.
To us this is a fun way of logging our experiences but also a way to log the lessons we learned. I’m excited to see the comments we get and hopefully this becomes a good basis for sharing of lessons learned between hunters and introducing new hunters to this fun sport.
Mostly we do upland hunting and waterfowl hunting. During the off season we coyote hunt and after our wedding we plan on getting a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. I had to give my old Chessie away to a hunting buddy when life threw some wrenches at us. I think this will provide us lots of learning experiences. We don’t claim to be experts but definitely claim to be learners of the sport together.
I hope you can enjoy and learn from our mistakes.
